Wilson - Sophia Edwards Jones

Sophia P. Edwards was born in Kentucky in 1813. She was married to Wm Jones in 1829 at the age of 16, and came to Indiana a bride on horseback to her old home near Russiaville. To this union with Mr. Jones was born eight children, six daughters and two sons, all of which have preceded her in death except two daughters, Zerelda A. Hicks and Rachel A. Kinder, who are left to mourn a mother’s loss.
Her husband, Wm Jones, died June 24, 1866, and she was married to Michael Wilson Dec. 17, 1879, whom she survived only a few years, he having died May 15, 1894. Sister Wilson departed this life Jan. 7, 1898, having arrived at the ripe age of four score and four years, 7 months and 25 days.
She has been a member of the M. E. Church for a number of years and while she has been an invalid and a constant sufferer for years she has borne it all with Christian fortitude. -s
